Somebody stole my sole remaining ISO tasting glass recently but I can't say I am overcome with grief. In fact, leaving aside those cut-glass frustum-shaped things that used to be beloved of country-house restaurants and of course the Paris goblet (shudder), it is about the most useless tasting glass one can spoil a good wine with. I think the major problem is that it just isn't big enough to give a decent slug of wine a proper swirl.
Having tried several wines recently in both an ISO and one of my Riedel "basic" glasses that I keep for "please bring your own glasses" events, I have resolved to take the latter with me for all tastings.
