The two bottles of the same Barbaresco from Cigliuti sampled recently both looked decent (until pouring anyway ), seemed to have good corks and levels and were from the same lot. One was really quite seriously oxidised, the other just fairly mature. I wonder what leads to this sort of thing? Is there an otherwise undetectable leakage in the seal or is it more likely to be due to some sort of contamination? Perhaps there is some entirely different explanation.
