Ramonet (and other) 96's 17/02/2005 (TNB)

Having admired the vintage, I was a bit blasé when responding to some suggestions on the UK Wine Forum that there were problems with oxidation in some 1996 White Burgundies (blamed on insufficient sulphur use initially in response to seeing apparently very healthy grapes). Ramonet was particularly mentioned and so I opened a bottle of the Ruchottes last night and I am afraid the doubters are right. The wine was a pale tangerine colour and faulty - probably oxidised although not in what seems to me to be quite the usual way.

I do hope this is not a widespread problem but it made me a bit wary of the vintage.
