Discussing the 96 white Burgundy controversy last night with Z.M: his feeling is that a lot of them are going through a phase at the moment. We tried that Ramonet Ruchottes again and (3 days after opening) it was much better than originally and that oxidative character seems to have receded a lot.

This all seems very mysterious. I really don't have a clue what is going on with these wines.
